Claude SMB Workshop AI Fluency for Small and Medium Business Leaders
Learn how to put AI to work. Fewer errors. Faster turnaround. Work you can actually put your name on. Join Anthropic, Tenex, the Maryland Governor’s Office of Innovation, and GBC for a half-day AI fluency training and hands-on workshop for business owners and operators who want to learn how to leverage AI to solve real world business problems. No prior experience needed. Just practical skills you can put to work the next morning, and a room full of local leaders problem solving alongside you. Please register by June 11th. This workshop is designed for small and mid-sized business leaders, and a brief application helps us bring together a room of peers facing similar challenges — keeping the day focused and valuable for everyone. About this event Small and mid-sized businesses employ nearly half the American workforce — but most of the AI conversation skips right past them. In our research with SMB leaders, the #1 pain point wasn't skepticism about AI. It was employees being unsure how or when to use it effectively. That's the gap this workshop is built to close. The Claude SMB Workshop is a free, hands-on session built for leaders running real companies with real operational complexity. You'll spend the afternoon with Anthropic — the company behind Claude — learning practical AI skills, working through exercises on your own laptop, and trading notes with other business owners in Baltimore navigating the same questions. You'll walk out with at least one workflow you can run the next morning. That's the bar we're holding ourselves to. Why we're doing this: SMBs are where AI will actually change how work gets done — and frankly, we learn as much from these rooms as you do. This is an education and research initiative, not a sales pitch. The skills you'll learn work with any AI tool, not just ours. This is part of The Claude SMB Tour, a national series of workshops Anthropic is running in partnership with local business communities across the country. Who should attend This workshop is built for you if you are: An owner, operator, or senior leader at a company with 1-500 employees Running a business with real workflows — departments, teams, backoffice, customers, vendors Curious about AI but not sure where to start, or already experimenting and want to go further Based in or around the Baltimore area You do not need any technical background. If you can use email, you can do this workshop. What you’ll learn Turn messy data into clean reports and dashboards — pulling from the spreadsheets and systems you already use Automate the repetitive stuff: customer follow-ups, order management, forecasting, scheduling, status updates Connect Claude to the tools you’re already in all day — Gmail, Google Drive, Microsoft 365, PayPal, HubSpot, Canva Know where the limits are: what to trust, what to double-check, and how to keep your data yours
