Bruja of Black Earth
Past
On February 20th from 5pm-7pm in partnership with PLACE there will be a fashion | art showcase called: The Bruja of Black Earth. All ages are welcome.
The showcase attempts to show clothing that functions as altars or time portals. There are objects such as sewing tools, photographs, botanical materials, books, and hand-altered garments that operate as evidence of survival and as proposals for the imagining of alternate ways to engage with the outdoors. Each piece interrogates systems of labor, militarization, domesticity, and belonging while proposing new frameworks rooted in collective care and regenerative design.
