The Radiation Control Technician supports the Institute in the area of radiological protection ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations by measuring, assessing and documenting radiological conditions in the workplace. A Post-Doctoral research position is currently available in the laboratory of Dr. Andrew Mayer at the Mind Research Network in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Post-Doctoral Fellow will conduct independent research in the field of traumatic brain injury, assist other members in the lab with research projects, and develop novel research methods as needed. The Post-Doctoral fellow will also work directly with research teams within the Mind Research Network as well as with outside collaborators, develop proposals for research funding, present and publish research data, analyze and interpret a variety of preclinical and clinical data, and perform all other related research duties as required or assigned. Research opportunities include examining the cognitive and neuronal dysfunctions associated with both acute and chronic traumatic brain injury. Ongoing neuroimaging work in the lab include functional MRI (fMRI; task, rest and cerebrovascular reactivity), MRS, structural data, simultaneous real-time fMRI-EEG, neurofeedback and diffusion. Proteomic data analyses and opportunities for data collection are also available. Primary responsibilities will consist of scientific manuscript writing and data analysis. Will exercise judgment in the collection and processing of samples such as blood, serum, plasma, tissue and urine. Works with a variety of animal species and work assignments are relatively complex. tasks will involve both in-vivo and in-vitro procedures. Documents laboratory work to acceptable standards and maintains laboratory/medical equipment and supplies in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), protocols and regulations. The successful candidate will assist in administrative functions of study execution such as labeling collection tubes and transporting supplies to appropriate area, quality control review of data, coordinating sample shipment, and acting as shift or study lead. Reporting to the Contracts Manager and under general direction, the Senior Contracts Specialist will provide technical and administrative contracts support to scientific and administrative staff in support of the Institute's mission. The Senior Contracts Specialist will provide end-to-end execution of Federal and commercial contracts by ensuring compliance with Institute policies, Federal regulations affecting grants, competitive contracts and/or solicitations, and the terms of commercial contracts. Will review and ensure accuracy of pricing data of budgets, review contractual documents and agreements, make recommendations about best practices for contract compliance, and assist the Contracts Manager with all other related contractual administration duties and tasks as required or assigned. Will also generate and complete pre and post award documents including but not limited to, Service Agreements, Work, Delivery and Task Orders, Amendments and shall conduct customer contract reviews as necessary. Lovelace Biomedical Research Institute is seeking a Biosafety Officer who will be responsible for protecting the Institute’s employees, contractors, visitors, the general public and the environment from potential exposures to biohazardous materials and toxin; and to ensure that the Institute maintains full compliance with both the letter and the spirit of the Select Agents and Toxins regulations as well as all other applicable governmental regulations and guidelines, and internal requirements. In addition to conducting risk assessments, lab inspections, involvement with IBC or IBC protocol review, training development, Biological waste Management, on call emergency response and Occupational health/incident response. The Biosafety Officer will also serve as Responsible Official (RO). As RO, will ensure compliance with all aspects of the Institute’s Select Agent Program in accordance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS), Select Agents and Toxins regulations. Will develop and implement supporting health and safety programs. Will be responsible for reviewing and updating the Institute’s Select Agents Biosafety and Chemical Hygiene Plan, Security Plan and Incident and Emergency Response Plan. Will review research projects involving human and animal pathogens or biological toxins, including select agents, recombinant and synthetic nucleic acids, transgenic plants and animals and advises researchers regarding appropriate biocontainment levels, safety practices and applicable regulatory guidelines. Provides assistance to researchers in obtaining and maintaining any required import or interstate transport permits for biological materials to be used at LBRI and transports infectious materials between campuses as needed, and perform all other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.

CMAR technicians provide daily husbandry of laboratory animals to include (but not limited to) observation of animals, handling and restraint, feeding and watering, changing cages/racks, and sanitizing animal quarters and equipment for multiple species. Operates and/or use supplies and equipment necessary to perform the husbandry duties. Provides daily record keeping for animals and room environments in accordance with LBRI quality assurance standards and regulations. Will maintain cleanliness of the cage wash area, warehouse, diet kitchen and any animal equipment storage areas, and perform all other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.
